Are we making the most of the massive amounts of data our satellites provide on our atmosphere, marine environment and land? How do we turn what we see into decisive policies?
Improved understanding of disaster risk helps to build resilience and informed approaches to policymaking, thereby contributing to sustainable, smart and inclusive growth.
The Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre (DRMKC) aims at enhancing the EU and Member States resilience to disasters and their capacity to prevent, prepare and respond to emergencies through a strengthened interface between science and policy. The DRMKC is composed of several Commission services and a network of interested Member States. It will be the focal point of reference to support the work of EU Member States as well as all actors involved in disaster risk management within and beyond the EU.
