Making sure that our cars are clean and safe
The Vehicle Market Surveillance Facilities carry out emissions and safety tests on cars placed on the EU market.
The new facility is located in Ispra, Italy. It can simulate real-world driving conditions with a very wide range of temperature, humidity and ambient pressure. Inspections are carried out in laboratory and on-road tests to check that vehicles comply with environmental and safety requirements.
