A global reference tool to fight Alzheimer's

Formal diagnosis of Alzheimer's can take years. EU scientists are developing reference materials to be used in standard test kits to reduce the diagnosis time.

Alzheimer affects more than 40 million people worldwide. Early detection of the disease is crucial to combat this neurodegenerative disease. Research is focussing on the analysis of biomarkers.
