European Nuclear Security Training Centre

EUSECTRA, a training center based in Karlsruhe and Ispra, aims to improve Member States' capabilities to address threats associated with illicit incidents involving nuclear or other radioactive materials.

The training programme provides trainees with hands-on experience with real nuclear materials, as EUSECTRA is one of the few places in the world where a diverse range of plutonium and uranium samples of various isotopic compositions can be used for detection, categorization, and characterization training.
