How migration data is being used to boost economies
EU researchers are using big data to understand the phenomenon of migration better and back the development of more coherent and effective integration programmes.
The Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography uses anonymous digital traces from phones, social media and earth observation to show trends in migration complementing official data. These models offer useable information, make migration easier to understand, and offer humanitarian opportunities for a better integration of migrants.
