The growing complexity of the policy issues at stake and the increasing flood of data and information available require an increasing ability to map, review, analyse and condense best available knowledge in support of EU policies. The JRC has taken on these challenges, transforming itself from a traditional research-making organisation into a manager of knowledge for EU policies, capable to assist the Commission in innovating its working methods, processes and tools.
