Map: Aggregation levels

Level Europe shows individual plants. The colors correspond to the energy source colors from the filter panel. Use the setting Choose how to show power plants to choose between equal circle size for all plants or circle sizes according to the plant capacity.

Level European regions aggregates all plants in a European region. A region is highlighted on mouse over. The pie chart indicates the number of plants per energy source in the region. Click a region to show the region's total energy capacity in the bar chart at the top of the filter panel. Use the setting Show power plants to show or hide individual plants on the map.

Level Countries aggregates all plants in individual countries. A country is highlighted on mouse over. The pie chart indicates the number of plants per energy source in the country. Click a country to show the country's total energy capacity in the bar chart at the top of the filter panel. Use the setting Show power plants to show or hide individual plants on the map.

Level NUTS-2 regions aggregates all plants in individual NUTS-2 regions. A NUTS-2 region is highlighted on mouse over. The pie chart indicates the number of plants per energy source in the region. Click a region to show the region's total energy capacity in the bar chart at the top of the filter panel. Use the setting Show power plants to show or hide individual plants on the map.

Map: Navigation

• Drag the map with the left mouse or arrow keys.
• Zoom the map with either the left mouse, +/- buttons, double click, mousepad or scroll wheel.
• To zoom the map to a specific rectangular area: press shift and drag the mouse.
• Shift+double click unzooms the map.
• Country and city names are shown on the map starting at higher zoom levels.

Filters: Energy buttons

• Click an energy source button to check/uncheck it. Only plants with checked source types are shown in the visualization on the map.
• Shift+click an energy source to check/uncheck all sources at once.

Filters: Interval sliders

• Drag the left or right end zone or number of a slider interval to limit or extend the data range.
• Drag the middle of an interval to alter the interval’s position.

Filters: Search for a plant name

Click the magnifying glass icon to show the search box and type a search string. All plants with a plant name starting with the search string are shown on the map. You can choose to show the plant name itself via the setting Show plant names during text search.
