Lung cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one or both lungs. These abnormal cells do not carry out the functions of normal lung cells, and they form tumours as they grow. Lung cancer is the second most diagnosed cancer in men, after prostate cancer, and the third one in women, after breast and colorectal cancers.
