The JRC Urban NO2 Atlas provides city factsheets to help design effective air quality measures to reduce nitrogen dioxide concentrations in European cities.
To protect us from this harmful pollutant, the atlas identifies the emissions sources and the contribution by different vehicles types. Municipalities of 30 major European cities are tackling air pollution and raising the equality of life in their cities by using this Atlas.
Contrary to common belief, there is still a lack of information on where and under what conditions many people live, especially in developing countries.
