Tracking essential fish habitat

Real-time information sent to fishermen's smartphones helping them to avoid fishing in certain areas

Oceans and fish habitats are highly dynamic but they are now monitored by satellites, field observations and ocean models. The JRC uses Copernicus data for a more dynamic and smarter management of our oceans by sending real-time information to fishermen's smartphones helping them to avoid fishing in certain areas.
