Atmospheric Observatory for greenhouse gasses

The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission monitors classical air pollutants in accordance with European legislation at the Ispra site in northern Italy.

To monitor the air, advanced optical and physical characterization of aerosols is performed. The Observatory's data are used as a benchmark to understand changing emission patterns and provide valuable information on greenhouse gases from the Po Valley to the International Carbon Observation System, as measured from a 100-meter tower.
